Deciding What to Do
Teens should ask these questions:
What do I enjoy doing that I could also do to help others?
What kinds of problems and causes interest me?
What kinds of volunteer activities would most benefit my community?
What kinds of skills and resources can I bring to the problem?
How much time do I have to spend on volunteering?

Tips to Encourage Your Kids to Volunteer
Volunteer with your teen or as a family or group of families.
Support your teen verbally and financially-for expenses if needed.
A site called Learning to Give will help you teach your child about age-appropriate philanthropy.
Have your child set aside part of his/her allowance for charity.
Encourage your teen to go on a service trip to understand the impact one individual can make.
