Question:

Are there motivational blogger sites available for tens and their parents? What does it take to monitor one's ten MySpace website and the tens activity- who, how much time spent on the routine basis.
Thank you,

Answer:

Jennifer Williamson, author, 'It Takes a Virtual Village,' answered the question:

From our research, the sites appear to be pretty segregated. Most parent sites we found seem to be supportive environments where parents could ask questions and respond. Most of the teen blogs we found were either geared exclusively to teens or exclusively to parents, and all the parent bloggers we spoke to were adamant about keeping their teens at arms’ length from their blogs.

One way to monitor a teen's general surfing habits would be having a separate computer for the teen and continually check the history and cookies folder to see where they're going, and there are blockers you can install to block out certain Websites--although many experts feel these are not particularly effective and also set up an adversarial relationship between parent and teen.
