Important Teen Tech Terms:

Away Message What people see on their Buddy List when your computer is on, but you are not available.
Buddy List Group of approved chatters on your IM list.
Dodgeball A social network that links your online community to your cell phone. Sending a text message to 36343 automatically pings a message with your location to all your friends.
IM (Instant Messaging) A conversational method of text communication in which participants carry on a dialog in a single onscreen computer window.
Mal-ware "Malicious Software", a general term for spyware, viruses, Trojan horses, and other infestations that afflict computers.
Phishing Any scheme designed to obtain potentially valuable information about a user.
Screen Name In IM, an "alias" for your real name. Users can have many screen names, and use this option to go online without appearing on Buddy Lists that contain their other screen name(s).
Text (Text messaging) A text message sent from one cell phone to another.
Top Ten Your "top ten" friends, very important to MySpacers. Ranks change.
