    I think that school is my son’s job. I don’t think he should work to earn money. I think that parents have to figure out their priorities and keep their kids buckling down on schoolwork – that’s enough for most of them.

    My child is moving up to middle school next week, so these tips helped. And our school had a two-day seminar for parents and kids about the differences between elementary school and middle school. All schools should do this. My girl is a little scared, but she has a best friend to go through it with, so that helps.

    We have 4 kids, so getting everyone back to school has to be organized and efficient. I don’t push them to start going to bed early.., that’s their responsibility. But I wake them all up at regular school wake-up time for the last week summer. The older two get the younger two ready and we all pack bag lunches for the week before school starts. It’s a whole project – but after all these years, it works!
